How Has The Minority Vote Effected American Presidential Elections?
[ send me this paper ]
12 pages in length. The extent to which minority vote has effected American presidential elections can be viewed from myriad perspectives; from political party to poll influence, the factors that impact the minority vote are certainly worthy of close consideration. Analysts routinely study behavior of minority voting and note that the primarily Democratic voting black population is far more easily read than the Hispanic community, whose voting behavior is significantly less predictable. In Defense Of Bill Clinton And His Pardons
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Upholding the office of United States Presidents inherently affords one the opportunity to wield certain power privileges as supported by the Constitution. One of these advantage, according to Article II, Section II of this historical document, is that the president shall have Power to Grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment. That other politicians or even the general public did not support some of the people who have been pardoned through the years did not matter; rather, the President of the United States possesses the sole discretion of who is pardoned and how many are pardoned regardless of outside opinion. Interest Group Liberalism
[ send me this paper ]
This 11 page report discusses the
impact and influence of interest groups in the functions of
government in the United States. Recently, it has appeared that
the people with the best representation in the government are
not individual people at all but the special interest groups that
ostensibly position themselves to represent the thinking of the
people. Bargaining groups or interests control the decisions of
government and the end result is the creation of laws that
apportion out the true power of the state to interest groups with
the power and organization to influence government agencies,
neglecting people who do not belong to such groups, and
maintaining the privileges of those who do. Bibliography lists 10
sources.

John Ensign / Senate Campaign
[ send me this paper ]
15 pages in length. Republican John Ensign did not lose the Senate race because he was not popular; indeed, the one-time veterinarian and casino director held much of the Nevada constituency in the palm of his hand. His clean-cut, family image, handsome exterior and outward appeal for the betterment of all Nevadans placed Ensign in good favor with the public. However, he was up against a tough Democratic incumbent by the name of Harry Reid. Both candidates pitched a good, solid campaign, yet only one was ultimately chosen to occupy Nevada's Senate seat. The writer discusses Ensign's campaign as it relates to the 1998 Senate race. Bibliography lists 10 sources.

John Kerrys Economic Plan and the Financial Market
[ send me this paper ]
McNamee (2004) has it right when he says the economy has always grown under Democratic presidents and suffered under Republican presidents. This, of course, is the age old debate between business and workers supported by Republicans that Kerry has turned into what The Economist (2004) refers to as the new American class war. While McNamee can put the facts into historical perspective, the Bush camp and its financial sheep, herded by Merrill Lynch, will do anything to prove Kerrys economic policy will harm the financial market. This claim simply is not supported by history. Bibliography lists 7 references. jvJKplan.rtf

Lamis: "The Two-Party South"
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. Democrats finally lost their stronghold upon the South when the Republicans overcame decades of overpowered political maneuvering; based upon the premise of white supremacy, the Republican Party sought to equalize there heretofore social, political and economic domination the Democratic Party had long upheld. That the Republicans overcame this perpetual challenge and gained majority status in the 1990s clearly illustrates the manner by which the South was ready for a two-party system in order to erase the inequities associated with the previous two decades. Media Coverage of Presidential Elections, Debates and Campaigns throughout the Last Century Including Discussion on Bias and Influence
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 12 page paper discussing media coverage of presidential elections, campaigns and debates. Throughout the last century media coverage of the Presidential elections, campaigns, issues and debates has grown from print media including newspapers and magazines to include radio, newsreels, television and internet coverage. Newspaper and radio coverage are still considered vital in reaching millions of American but despite its slow start, television coverage has become a major influence regarding public opinion. In most cases, the public are skeptical about the bias which may or may not occur from journalists but they accept this bias because they rely upon the media for their information about the candidates. In addition, television journalists argue that it is their position to provide professional commentary to try and overcome the political spin placed on many of the issues by candidates. Election and debate coverage as well have come under controversy as many believe the quick processing of election results provided by the media may influence voter turnout and bias in different parts of the country and media coverage of debates has been shown to change peoples minds about the initial impression given by the candidates during the debates. Regardless of the controversy which surrounds media coverage, most critics agree that the extensive options available to the public in regards to coverage of presidential events should allow the population to make the best democratic decisions.

Necessary Compromise in Government.
[ send me this paper ]
(5 pp) The United States Constitution defines
the rights of its citizens and the rights of those
geographical areas called states. It also defines the structures and the powers of the federal government, and loosely labels the three major areas of government as the executive branch, the legislative branch and the judicial branch.
Those who framed that document were well
aware of the tendencies of humans to first be moved
by their own causes rather than those of the nation,
and developed measures that each of the three
segments of government would serve as a "check and
balance" mechanism against the other. In this
discussion we will look at some of the "wish list"
items of the current United States president,
George W. Bush, see if they are causing conflict,
and which factors encourage compromise.

The political world was sent spinning when Ensign won the southern Nevada Congressional seat in 1994, which started a short but illustrious career that was committed to helping Nevadans.
