Evaluating Two Antipoverty Policies
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. Eradicating poverty is a concept that - while met with myriad valiant efforts - is not likely to occur in the near future; the extent to which various programs and policies have failed to address the issue at its fundamental core clearly speaks to the perpetual backward slide that occurs with every attempt thrown at the problem. Fair housing and welfare represent two monumental policies that have ultimately failed because of poor vision and the absence of solid program infrastructure. While they both share a common denominator of working toward eliminating at least part of the financial burden placed on the impoverished, they differ in the scope of their respective operations being that fair housing provides the opportunity to secure adequate shelter, while welfare freely gives substantial amounts of money to those who cheat the system. Bibliography list 4 sources.

Explaining Death And Dying To Preschool Children
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page paper. How to explain death to a preschool-age child is an issue of some controversy in the world, however, experts seem to agree that we should not try to shield our young children from the fact of death. A 5 page paper which
discusses how the Latino population is treated in the food industry in this country. The
information obtainable indicates that there is no solid proof of the exploitation of the
Latino population in the food industry today. That, however, perhaps only indicates that in
larger areas, or areas where Latinos know their legal rights, and places of employment that
are large companies, such as McDonalds and Denny's, the Latino population is not
exploited, but that such may well be the case in smaller areas where the Latino population
is not large, or where the establishment is small and privately owned. Bibliography lists 4

Factors That Might Make Children In Institutional Care More Vulnerable To Abuse
[ send me this paper ]

Fair Housing, The Homeless And Community Development
[ send me this paper ]
14 pages in length. There is no simple way to solve all the problems inherent to fair housing and homelessness; they are far too complex and based within a foundation of social intolerance and political stringency to think the forces at work trying to fix them will find a way to appease all the challenging aspects. However, this is not to say that any effort at all is wasteful or even worthless; rather, even greater effort is needed in the direction of mending the system's fixable components and leaving the more difficult social complexities for the time being. Families: Definition And Social Class Framework
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. Families of today are no more like their 1930s counterparts than 1930s families are a reflection of those from the 1890s. With each new generation comes a sort of metamorphosis with regard to the overall composition of the family unit. The synergistic impact of social, political, cultural and historical elements serves to steer the ever-evolving nature of families so they move forward with the constant progress of society as a whole; indeed, it would look rather peculiar to see a family like the Andersons from Father Knows Best living next door to the ultra contemporary likes of Ozzy Osbourne and kin. The passage of time instills myriad new and different modifications to society as a whole and families as a direct representation of that greater influence. No bibliography.
