Feminism: Gender Categorization Verses the Concept of Sex
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page discussion of the traditional feminist distinction between sex and gender. Contends that feminists do not deny the biological facts of their bodies, only societys tendency to lump them into certain societal categories because of their bodies. Feminism: Ecological Theory
[ send me this paper ]

Women have been under patriarchal control since the beginning of time; when compared to man's domination over nature is there a tangible correlation between the way in which the male gender reigns over both entities. Feminist Anthropology and Postmodern Criticism
[ send me this paper ]
A 6 page discussion of feminist anthropology, the approach to anthropology which entails an intent to overcome the traditional male-dominate biases which have previously existed in the field. Presents the work of Sherry B. Ortner as well as numerous other authors to illustrate the premises of feminist anthropology. Points out that even this approach is not without its critics. Cautions that while some in anthropology today seek to take the discipline one more step, to use it as a tool for exposing the factors which result in the world's inequalities, particularly the inequalities between men and women and overcoming those factors, that approach is a distraction and indeed a threat to the traditional intent of the discipline. Concludes that the anthropologist is to observe and record, not to interfere in matters which were in existence long prior to our arrival on the scene. Bibliography lists 4 sources.

Feminist Science Fiction: A Stereotypical Literary Genre in Itself?
[ send me this paper ]
An 11 page discussion of feminist preferences and content in science fiction. Contends that the creation of the literary genre of feminist science fiction is in reality an injustice to feminist as that genre makes the assumption that writing content and preference is determined by gender. This genre requires a literary work to feature women rather than men. This paper points out that the authors likes and dislikes in science fiction have little to do with the gender of the author or whether the primary plot features a woman or a man. The author contends that such a categorization severely limits the type of work which is acceptable under this proposed genre. We must ask ourselves, is it any more fair to limit a feminists creative output than it is to limit her occupation or perceived societal role? Is the feminist who chooses to write science fiction which features interaction of men and women as equals no longer a feminist? Bibliography lists 7 sources.

Feminist Therapy And Postmodern Approach
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. One of the most prominent issues pertaining to the notion of feminist therapy and postmodern approach is how this particular population is routinely intermixed with other multicultural subgroups that do not "conform their lives to the truths and reality of the dominant society of which they are a part" (Corey, 2004, p. 410). Consequently, it has been necessary to establish an entirely separate approach to addressing the unique components of feminist therapy so as to underscore the combined aspects of gender and power. Friedman/Mappings: Feminism & Cultural Geography
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page book review that examines Mappings, Feminism and Cultural Geographies of Encounters by Susan S. Friedman. The vision that Friedman offers of the future of feminist theory goes beyond identity politics, as she guides the reader toward greater understanding of how identities are both negotiated and transformed. Drawing from the gamut of popular culture, Friedman relates to books, movies, poetry and the mass media, as she address theoretical issues that are pivotal to post-modern feminism. [ send me this paper ]
(11 pp). Unless you just arrived from an alien

another issue. We will be exploring where the
culture is today, in this paper.

Gender and Modernist Implications of Selected Portions of Virginia Woolfs The Waves
[ send me this paper ]
A 6 page analysis of Virginia Woolfs thematic presentation of women and their role society. Rather than resorting to the stereotypical images of women which so much predominated literature at this point in history, Woolf exposes us to a view of women which suggests independence and fortitude. Through this work we are presented with a significant reconsideration of culture and gender and pertinent observation on the way people act within a specific cultural context to deliberately alter those very contexts. Suggest that in many ways this book appears to be written in direct opposition to the concepts of Straussian theory, a theory of binary opposition between nature and culture which revolves around the economic value of the wife in a patriarchal society with the contention the woman was not a subject but an object to be bartered in the interest of promoting the all-important male status. Wells, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K. Dick, "The Lathe of Heaven" by Ursula K. LeGuin, and "Neuromancer" by William Gibson and outlines the female author's likes and dislikes. Gender And The Environment
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. As with most things that require forethought and nurturing, it can readily be argued how women are better at managing the environment than their male counterparts. Men, by nature, are inherently impulsive when it comes to attaining the bottom line of most any objective, a knee-jerk reaction that often culminates in a whole host of unforeseen and unplanned consequences.
