Death Experiences -- Are They Real ? : A 9 page research paper examining the
validity of alleged Near Death Experiences (NDE). Since
Raymond Moody coined the term with the publication of Life After Life in 1975, the
entire issue has been under debate. Though some researchers maintain that the NDE is
nothing more than a product of physiological changes the body undergoes when death is
imminent, their scientific logic is found to be faulty. The body of knowledge surrounding
the NDE is too vast to be dismissed because of our inability to clinically replicate the
events encompassed by the NDE. That same inability does nothing to prevent the stars from
existing and maintaining their positions, either. Those who have returned unshakably hold
that their experiences were in fact very real, regardless of what some researchers want to
say about those experiences. Thus, the writer of this paper makes a strong argument that
NDEs are indeed, very real. Bibliography lists 9 sources. FREE Outline included. Nde.wps

Laboratory opened at Duke University in the 1930s for the purpose of empirically

us have had some sort of unexplainable extrasensory experience, and works to the
conclusion that ESP does in fact exist. Bibliography lists 4 sources. ESPyes.doc
The Case Against the Existence of ESP :
A 4 page paper refuting the claims of parapsychology researchers. The paper acknowledges
that there are indeed occurrences that we cannot understand based on the knowledge that we
now have, but maintains that our own lack of knowledge is far from sufficient reason to
conclude the existence of ESP. Many phenomena that were unexplainable in years past have
since been shown to be attributable to natural laws, and there is little reason to
conclude that there are no more natural laws left to discover. Explanation for the
unexplainable may well come at a later date. For now, no psychic research has been shown
to be duplicatable, a prime rule of scientific investigation. Bibliography lists 4
sources. ESPno.doc

Cost of Treatment for Chemical Dependency
: In today's fast paced, technology oriented and capitalistic world the issue of
mental health care and , specifically, chemical dependency treatment, has become very cost
oriented. Because of the nature of addiction, the addict is often without resources to
cover the cost of treatment. "Drug and alcohol dependency are escalating rapidly as a
percentage of the total patient population among all social classes. This 9 page paper
asserts that cost effective treatment can best be served by assessing the individual's
circumstances and providing the least restrictive setting best suited for the attainment
of abstinence, both in the immediate future and for the duration of the individual's
lifetime. This is best accomplished by a flexible system that allows both inpatient and
outpatient services to be accessed, with inpatient services being utilized only when other
alternatives have been explored and are found to be lacking in feasibility. Bibliography
lists 9 sources. KTcdcost.wps

Behavioral & Experiential Approaches to
Family Therapy : A 15 page paper using literature analysis to prove the hypothesis
that though there is a much greater volume of current research and reporting based in
behavioral therapy rather than experiential, the lack of similar work based in the
experiential model is not indicative of that methods validity or effectiveness.
Rather, there is a common blurring of boundaries between the two methods in which therapy
will begin with emphasis in one method but then introduce aspects of the other. The
behavioral model is more easily quantitatively analyzed for research reporting, lending
itself more readily to analysis than does the experiential model, which has a more
emotional base and is more difficult to verify through standard research means.

Investigating Advice on Communication Between
Couples : An 8 page paper comparing the theories of 5 self-help relationship books
to the findings of current communications research reports. There are very good self-help
books available discussing the male-female romantic relationship, but the reader does
indeed need to be aware of the discrepancies of many of them with both current
communications research findings and common sense. With the exception of Gray, every one
of the problems discussed in both the books and the communications journal articles
referenced for this paper has as its base a lack of honesty on the part of at least one,
and normally both involved players. Whether that lack of honesty is intentional or not, it
nevertheless is there and blocks the path of any true and lasting relationship.
